The garlic slicer is a machine used to quickly slice garlic. It is mainly used in food processing and kitchens. It improves slicing efficiency while keeping the garlic’s texture intact. Garlic is an essential ingredient in daily cooking, but slicing, shredding, or mincing it takes time and effort. This article uses the SL-300 garlic slicer as an example to introduce its functions, features, and applications.

What is a garlic slicer?

A garlic slicer is a machine designed to cut garlic into thin and even slices. Compared with manual slicing, it can process a large amount of garlic in a short time while keeping the slice thickness consistent, improving food processing efficiency.

This food-grade garlic slicer consists of a frame, rotating blade disk, motor, and V-belt. It uses a rotating blade to slice garlic, offering high-quality cuts, small thickness error (adjustable 2–12 mm), even slices, fresh texture, and intact fiber structure.

How Does It Work?

The SL-300 garlic slicer machine works by mechanical cutting with rotating blades to quickly slice garlic.

Working Process:

  1. Feeding: Fresh garlic is placed into the feed inlet, which usually has guide slots or a pusher to ensure the garlic enters the slicing area evenly, preventing jams or uneven cuts.
  2. Slicing: Garlic moves into the rotating blade system. High-strength metal blades spin rapidly to slice garlic thinly. Slice thickness can be adjusted between 2–12 mm by changing the gap between the blade and guide plate. The fast rotation ensures smooth, even slices without damaging the garlic structure.
  3. Discharge: Sliced garlic exits through the outlet automatically and can be collected directly or sent to the next process, such as drying or vacuum packaging.
  4. Drive & Power: A 0.75 KW motor drives the blades and conveyor. Power is transmitted via belts or gears, providing stable and efficient cutting.
  5. Safety Protection: The machine includes guards and an emergency stop. Operators do not need to touch the blades during operation, ensuring safety.

Garlic slicing machine safety and usage tips

Cleaning & Protection

When not in use for a long time, clean the machine inside and out to prevent dust and moisture. Drain the gearbox oil, and apply anti-rust oil to chains and exposed metal parts to extend the machine’s life.

Electrical Safety

Ensure the machine is properly grounded. Follow all electrical safety rules for connected equipment to avoid electric shock or short circuits.

Blade Safety

Do not open the cover or panels while the blades are still spinning to prevent accidents.

Operational Safety

Never put hands or hard objects into the feed slot during operation. Operators should monitor the machine at all times and stop it immediately if any abnormal situation occurs.
